Infuse Your Lesson Plans with Real Life Experiences
- Do students ask you, "Why do I need to learn this stuff?"
- Are you looking for innovative, effective lesson plans?
- Would you like hand-on, take home value professional development?
- Would you like to be better positioned to help students explore career paths?
Teacher Workshop particiants reach more than 50,000 students each year and the numbers continue to grow.
The programs teaches how math, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, science, art and social studies are used in the building industry, all while fulfilling teacher professional development requirements! Workshops are facilitated by industry professionals who are passionate about what they do. At the end of the program, teachers walk away with volumes of applied curriculum they can take back into their classrooms. Teachers are also instilled with an increased knowledge about what it takes to successfully enter the building industry – and an enthusiasm for supporting careers in construction.
Workshops have been accredited by Oregon State, Portland State, and Southern Oregon Universities for graduate credit. Workshops are offered throughout Oregon for a broad range of academic and technical teachers.

Over 90% of teacher participants have rated the
workshops in the upper 20% of all their
professional development courses!

Unfortunately, we aren't offering any programs for teachers at this time. We hope to offer a variety of workshops in 2011 and are currently exploring partnerships and opportunities throughout Oregon. If you or your school district are interested in sponsoring a workshop in your school, city, or region, please contact Dick O'Connor, OBC Executive Director, at 503.685.8313.
